09.02.20 - Synaxon sees record recruitment in January as EGIS attracts more mid-sized resellers

Synaxon, the leading dealer group for the IT and office products channel, is putting a record rise in the number of new members joining and higher levels of interest from well-established, medium-sized resellers over the past month, down to the growing success and reputation of its EGIS online system. Since the start of January, 33 companies have signed up as Synaxon members – the highest number to join during a single month since the UK operation was formally established at the beginning of last year. This has taken the total number of UK members to more than 594 resellers. Derek Jones, Synaxon’s UK Managing Director, says that more resellers are now hearing about the benefits of becoming a member, and cites the success of Synaxon’s EGIS (Enterprise Global Information System) as the main reason for the surge in new recruits. Crucially, he points out that EGIS gives resellers access to any personalised pricing and terms that they may have negotiated directly with the distributor, as well as the special deals arranged by Synaxon for its members. “Let’s face it, the last 12 months were really tough and resellers and dealers have come back in the New Year determined to get as much competitive advantage as they can. If they can find a way to be more efficient and reduce their costs, they will – with EGIS they can do both and make the most, not only of the special terms we provide, but also their own separately negotiated agreements with distributors. Quite simply, EGIS just makes your life easier. It enables you to view availability and pricing of all our distributor partners, and then place orders directly with those distributors, without constantly logging in and out of different systems. It is a simple tool that genuinely helps resellers in their everyday business.” Many resellers are joining for precisely this reason. Jason Nixon, Business Manager at iTeamUK, (www.iteamuk.com) says that the appeal is pretty straight-forward. “From a sourcing point of view, we anticipate that having free access to all the distributor systems through EGIS will be really useful and enable us deliver a better and more reliable service to our customers.” Of the 33 new members that have joined Synaxon over the past month, almost half have turnovers of £1 million or more and five of them have annual sales of more than £7 million. They include ‘traditional’ business-to-business systems integrators, office products dealers and computer retailers, as well as smaller independent IT specialists. Jones says that the spread of different types of organisations joining the group is a demonstration of its broad appeal – and the positive impact that EGIS is having for existing members. “Whether you are an IT reseller or an office products dealer, EGIS can give you the ability to buy better, sell more and reduce your costs.” EGIS is a comprehensive stock locator and procurement tool that delivers real-time stock availability and personalised business account pricing. Resellers can place their orders directly with their chosen distributor, taking advantage of their own personalised pricing or the price available to Synaxon members, if it is better, without the need to log-out of EGIS. Where resellers have access to ‘special bid’ or ‘vendor level’, this is also displayed to you through the EGIS on-line price check. The system is fully integrated with the systems of Synaxon’s partner distributors and designed to ensure individual businesses can see and take advantage of any of their own special terms and pricing that they may have negotiated with distributors. Synaxon UK is giving resellers the opportunity to try our EGIS free at the moment. After completing a basic registration ( which takes around two minutes), they will be given full access to the system information to stock-holding, exclusive pricing and discounted trading terms from Synaxon’s impressive line-up of UK distribution partners, which includes Ingram Micro, ETC, Entatech, CMS, Midwich, SIMMS, Beta, Blackdog, Bluepoint and many others. Once resellers have access to EGIS, they can also take advantage of Synaxon’s EGIS WebStore, which enables resellers to set up their own feature-rich e-commerce solution, utilising all the information available through EGIS, including C-Net data sheets and up-to-date pricing and availability data.

Synaxon UK has added Imago, the specialist, trade-only distributor of video communications products, to its list of UK supplier partners. The agreement means that resellers, in addition to all the benefits offered by Imago, can also take full advantage of the unique set of services on offer from Synaxon. Simply by registering with the group, they will become eligible for special offers and discounts on selected services. In addition, they will be able to check availability and pricing of Imago’s complete portfolio –which features solutions from Canon, Panasonic, Polycom, Sharp, Sony and others – and place orders for products through Synaxon’s EGIS on-line system. An established specialist in video communications solutions, Imago offers products from a wide range of leading vendors along with very high levels of account management and service. It forms strategic, long-term partnerships with reseller partners and provides hands-on marketing and sales expertise and support to ensure that resellers can drive profitable business. Derek Jones, Managing Director of Synaxon UK, says that the company is a valuable addition to its group of supplier partners. “Imago is a well-established and highly respected specialist distributor with its own unique values and adds a further valuable dimension to our family of suppliers in the UK. We’re delighted to be working with Imago and look forward to fostering a partnership that will deliver additional and very positive benefits for our mutual reseller partners.” James Vickerage, Head of Marketing at Imago states: “Synaxon’s unique approach delivers significant additional value to UK resellers and by becoming a Synaxon supplier partner, we are making it easier for our customers to take full advantage of those benefits, whilst continuing to maintain a direct relationship with our account team. Derek has assembled a highly professional team in the UK and Imago is looking forward to working with Synaxon to help resellers make the most of their opportunities.” Synaxon offers a unique partnership proposition to VARs and resellers – one that provides them with pro-active marketing support as well as access to a comprehensive range of products on exclusive terms and conditions. This approach also delivers more value for supplier partners as it pro-actively drives new business opportunities to reseller members, who can then locate and order products from suppliers through EGIS. It is free for resellers to sign up as a Synaxon Technology Partner (STP). In exchange they will receive bi-monthly mailers which they can personalise with their own company details, access to all Synaxon UK supplier agreements and their associated benefits, a listing on the Synaxon web site and call locator, and a trial of EGIS. Synaxon Technology Premier Partners (STTP) – in return for monthly subscription of £99 – receive additional benefits including professionally over-printed bi-monthly mailers, a detailed web site listing, access to priority leads generated via the call locator, full access to EGIS, and a discount on all additional Synaxon services.

04.09.09 - Synaxon's EGIS Reaches New Heights

Usage soars as resellers start to see system as ‘much more than just a stock checker and online ordering system’ and make use of its rich array of features Leading dealer group Synaxon is seeing usage of its online EGIS system soar as resellers start to take full advantage of the advanced features it offers to ensure that they are not only getting the best deal available today, but can also offer the most competitive pricing to their own customers. As well as providing up to date availability and pricing information on more than 250,000 products through feeds from 15 major UK distributors, EGIS (Enterprise Global Information System) provides tools that enable resellers to instantly compare the different prices being offered on the same (or similar) products by different distributors. It also includes a feature that allows resellers to quickly check the prices at which their competitors are offering products on their web sites. More of the 313 Synaxon member partners that have permanent access to EGIS are now making use of these resources to ensure that they have a real competitive edge in the market says Phil Meacham, Systems Support Manager at Synaxon UK. “EGIS is much more than just a stock and price checker, it’s an online ordering platform capabilities, which provides a range of marketing resources and whole host of other services. It’s everything the modern IT dealer’s purchasing and sales team need. We are seeing more of our members start to use EGIS Mobile to compare buying prices and the Google price checker feature to see what their competitors are offering. By doing so, they can keep their fingers well and truly on the pulse, take advantage of the very best offers available on the market and make sure that they offer the very best deals to their customers and as a result, make sure that they secure the business.” The EGIS Mobile tool enables resellers to quickly compare prices from different distributors – even while they are on the road or with customers – without calling up and logging in and out of various distributor sites. This saves an enormous amount of time and means that resellers can deliver an enhanced service to their customers. In short, says Meacham, EGIS gives dealers a competitive advantage. “Add to this all the special terms and conditions that are on offer exclusively to Synaxon members, such as free delivery from many distributor partners, and the benefits of being a premier member soon start to add up. More of our members are now starting to make much fuller use of the system – and we’re very confident that this momentum will continue as more resellers upgrade to the premier level of membership.” As well as these advantages, EGIS provides the dealer with comprehensive order management. Dealers have access to full order tracking and pricing history with all product information being fully cross referenced with detailed C-Net specification sheets. Resellers can also download the C-Net data into their own systems through the EGIS DataPack and EGIS DataPack Plus. By making use of the EGIS Webstore solution, they can set up their own front-end site that makes full use of the EGIS data feeds. This feature-rich e-commerce solution is available ‘off the shelf’ and can be set up within a matter of days, making it very cost and time effective for smaller resellers. A number of Synaxon dealer members have already taken advantage of the service to set up their own EGIS WebStores and many more will be established in the near future, say Meacham. “This is a good time to get a WebStore set up. More businesses and people are buying online now. In 2007, 17p in every £1 was spent on online and that figure will have grown considerably by now. According to the latest IMRG Capgemini e-Retail Sales Index, UK consumers spent £4.2 billion online in July 2009 – 15.7 percent more than in June and 16.8 percent higher than July 2008. Add to this the fact that we are now in the run-up to the new school year and what’s expected to be a busy fourth quarter, making sure that your customers can buy whatever they want from you online, as well as in person or over the phone, is going to be a smart move”, he states. To get the full benefits from EGIS and the exclusive trading terms, dealers need to enrol as Synaxon Technology Premier Partners (STPP). This also entitles them to a range of additional benefits including professionally over-printed bi-monthly mailers, a detailed web site listing, access to priority leads generated via the call locator, and a discount on all additional Synaxon services. The STPP membership subscription is just £99 per month. Resellers that sign up as a Synaxon Technology Partner (STP) are given a free trial of EGIS and also have access to bi-monthly mailers which they can personalise with their own company details and access to all Synaxon UK supplier agreements and a listing on the Synaxon web site and call locator. STP membership is free.

Leading dealer group Synaxon and top distributor Entatech have teamed up to hold a special reseller event ahead of the launch of Windows 7. Over 100 resellers are expected to attend the one-day seminar, workshop and exhibition at Weston Park in Staffordshire on Tuesday 6th October. NVIDIA is also supporting the event for which video, graphics and visual computing will be one of its key themes. Jon Atherton, Commercial Vice President of Entatech, says that the aim is to get resellers excited, enthusiastic and ready to take the Windows 7 message to their customers. “This is the biggest launch of the year and with the busiest time of the year approaching and signs of an upturn in the economy it couldn’t be coming at a better time. It will give retailers and resellers a chance to get up to speed on the how to sell Windows 7 and the latest and greatest NVIDIA video and graphics cards yet. This is going to be a very important quarter in both the gaming and business markets and we want to help our customers make the most of it” This is exactly why Synaxon is supporting the event, says Gary Sargent, Operations Manager of the dealer group. “Helping dealers to drive business is the reason that Synaxon exists and the launch of Windows 7 is a massive opportunity for the whole channel. We’re about to distribution more than 60,000 copies of our latest iTrends mailer, which is crammed with exclusive offers and promotions that will help our members make the most of that opportunity.” Synaxon is hoping to use the Weston Park occasion both to network with existing members and bring new recruits into the fold, says Sargent. “We know that many of our members have already registered for the event and it will also be an opportunity for other resellers to find out what Synaxon is all about and how they can benefit from becoming members.” As well as the regular iTrends end user mailer, resellers have access to the EGIS on-line system, which provides them with access to more than 250,000 products through 23 UK distribution partners and through unique features such as EGIS Mobile and the Google Price Checker, enables them to compare and contrast prices from different suppliers, and see what the competition are charging. Members can also take advantage of the EGIS WebStore and Data Pack services to build out their own ‘off the shelf’ customer facing ecommerce solution and integrate C-Net product data into their back office systems. “EGIS saves resellers time, enhances their professionalism and helps them to increase sales and profits. We’re seeing levels of usage soar amongst our most active members”, says Sargent. The Weston Park event is free for resellers to attend but places are limited. Anyone interested in attending should go to http://www.entagroup.com/synaxon/ or call Gary Sargent on 0844 481 5844.

Leading dealer group Synaxon is aiming to persuade more of its reseller members to upgrade to the premier level of membership by giving them the opportunity to use its EGIS online platform free of charge. For a limited period, Synaxon Technology Partners (STPs) that have three or more active trading accounts with the group’s UK distribution partners will be given the opportunity to have full access to the group’s Enterprise Global Information System (EGIS). This will enable them to find and compare products and pricing from different distributors and to make use of the comprehensive order management and other advanced features that the system provides. Phil Meacham, Systems Support Manager at Synaxon UK, believes that resellers who take up the offer will soon see the benefits. “EGIS is a tremendous resource for dealers and resellers who want to make sure, not only that they can find which distributors have stock of the required product at the best possible prices individual to their account, but also that they are themselves competitive in the marketplace. It saves them an enormous amount of time checking prices with different distributors, enables them to streamline quotations and order processing, reduce their costs and deliver a better level of service to their customers.” As well as instant on-line stock availability and pricing on more than 200,000 items from more than 20 UK distributors, EGIS gives resellers access to a range of powerful tools and resources. The Google Price Checker enables them to see the prices that their competitors are offering on specific products, while EGIS Mobile gives them a quick and easy way to see if a product is in stock and the best price at any time and from any location or device, without having to go to the trouble of calling up various sales desks or logging in and out of several web sites in search of the best deal. Resellers also have access to full order tracking and pricing history as well as detailed C-Net specification sheets, which they can download to their own internal systems by using the EGIS DataPack and EGIS DataPack Plus services. Resellers that take full Synaxon Technology Premier Partner (STPP) membership can benefit from discounted rates on the EGIS WebStore e-commerce service which combined with the EGIS DataPack service can have a fully functioning e-commerce solution with up-to-date information from all Synaxon UK distribution partners. This service is available ‘off the shelf’ and can be set up within a matter of days, making it very cost-effective for smaller resellers in particular. Synaxon currently has 23 distribution supplier partners in the UK so there is every prospect that most of its STP members will qualify for the EGIS trial. New reseller members that have the appropriate distributor accounts will also be able to take advantage, says Meacham. Current Synaxon UK distribution partners include Ingram Micro, Entatech, Midwich, ETC, Imago, Simms, CMS, Bluepoint and several new additions. Meacham adds: “In making this offer, we are hoping that many of our STP partners – and new members – will take the opportunity to try the EGIS platform. We are confident that once they have, they will see its value and will change the way their procurement process currently operates for the better. They can then become full STPPs and enjoy all the additional benefits and advantages that being on the higher level of Synaxon membership brings to their business.” Resellers receive a number of additional benefits when they sign up as an STPP. As well as full access to EGIS, they are provided with professionally-produced bi-monthly iTrends mailers, over-printed with their company name, detailing all the latest special offers available exclusively from Synaxon distributors and vendors. These are designed for distribution to the reseller’s own customer base and have proved to be tremendously popular and successful, generating significant levels of new business for the member companies. In addition, Synaxon Technology Partners are automatically entitled to exclusive pricing and trading terms from our distributor partners, to become a member please register online at: http://www.synaxon.co.uk/index.php?become-a-member.

IT automation framework central to driving recurring revenues through managed services business model Synaxon has partnered with Kaseya, a leading provider of IT systems management software, to launch a package of information, resources and solutions to empower Synaxon resellers to create new revenues through managed and hosted services. The Kaseya® IT Automation™ Framework is a key technology for the initiative, providing resellers with a platform to remotely monitor, support and manage multiple client networks from a single, web-based interface. The agreement marks Synaxon’s first entry into the services sector and the start of a strategic initiative that will see the dealer group increasingly become a trusted advisor and aggregator for new services and concepts. Specifically, Synaxon will be looking to bring forward market-leading software and services, like the Kaseya® IT Automation™ Framework, that present significant opportunities for resellers, says Derek Jones, Managing Director of Synaxon UK. “The Kaseya Framework enables resellers to proactively manage and maintain distributed IT infrastructure remotely, through a single, integrated web-based platform, and thus extend the range of services they offer to their customers and move into the fast-growing area of managed and hosted services. The Kaseya approach is proven and highly effective and through this agreement we are giving all our members the opportunity to start addressing what we believe will be a very significant sector of the market.” Kaseya’s Managed Service Framework is powerful, secure and easy to deploy and administer. It enables managed services providers to reduce complexity and increase productivity and for customers and increase their own profit margins. Commenting for Kaseya, Mike Sanders, Vice President of Managed Service Provider Sales EMEA, states: “This is a really progressive partnership for both Kaseya and Synaxon – and more importantly, for resellers who want to move into the managed and automated services market. We have an excellent – and proven - value proposition in what is undoubtedly going to be one of the major areas of business growth for the channel over the next five years. As a trusted partner and advisor for hundreds of resellers up and down the UK, Synaxon is ideally-placed to help them understand and start to address this tremendous opportunity.” In particular, Synaxon provides Kaseya with access to an established SME reseller community. Jones believes that it will be just as vital for smaller resellers to provide hosted services and software, as it is for resellers that address the larger end-user customers. “Remote management and hosted services solutions are perfect for smaller businesses and we believe that SMEs rather than corporates will lead adoption. Using this type of service just makes sense for smaller firms – it delivers lower overall costs and removes the issue of having to manage networks, connectivity and infrastructure in-house. We believe that many resellers would like to offer these services, but simply do not know where to start – they can now with Synaxon. We’ll provide them with the information they need and, by forging relationships with key service providers, give them the opportunity to move into what we believe will be soon become a very important sector of the market for all resellers.” Jones says that the dealer group will be looking to forge more relationships with services companies in the coming months, as it looks to add further depth and value to its members. As well as managed and hosted services, it will be looking to develop partnerships for software as a service (SaaS). “We are already providing access to broadband and Internet services providers through our existing relationships and with Kaseya we’re adding remote management to the roster as well. We’ll be aiming to broaden and deepen these offerings in 2010 and SaaS is certainly one area we’ll be looking at. The whole ‘as a service’ opportunity is very exciting and one that we believe will become a key market for independent resellers. Curiosity amongst end users at every level is growing and that will soon translate into real demand so resellers will need to know about hosted services and applications, understand them and be in a position to offer them to their customers quite soon. The time to start that process is now and through this agreement with Kaseya, Synaxon is giving them the perfect opportunity to do that.” Resellers interested in joining Synaxon should visit the web site at www.synaxon.co.uk/index.php?become-a-member.

Latest additions to dealer group’s growing list of supplier partners gives members access to wider range of electronic office supplies products Leading IT channel dealer group Synaxon is stepping up its recruitment drive in the office products market having significantly enhanced its appeal to dealers by adding two key distributors of electronic office supplies (EOS) products, Beta Distribution and BlackDog Supplies, to its list of suppliers. As well as the extensive ranges offered by these specialists, Synaxon can offer dealers access to EOS and IT product portfolios of many other top distributors including Ingram Micro, Entatech, Midwich, Imago, Simms and many others. Dealer members can access full availability and pricing details from all these suppliers – and place and manage their orders – through Synaxon’s web-based Electronic Global Information System (EGIS). By doing so, they can be sure of securing the best prices on EOS products, streamline their buying processes, reduce their costs and boost their profitability. Members can also take advantage of the EGIS WebStore e-commerce and Datapack services to set-up or provide content for their own online offering, thus maximising their sales opportunities on EOS products. This can be fully integrated with the dealer’s own back-office systems to provide live availability, pricing and automated ordering through the dealer’s own website. Derek Jones, Managing Director of Synaxon UK, says that the number of office products dealers signing up with Synaxon is growing, and points out that even dealers from other dealer groups are now enjoying the benefits of free membership of Synaxon. With the new additions of BlackDog and Beta, membership has become even more appealing to traditional OP dealers. “EOS products are now generating more than 40 percent of most office products dealers’ revenues, thus making sure that they can secure the best availability and pricing is increasingly important. Beta and BlackDog are valuable additions to our supplier network this significantly enhances the value of our service for office products dealers. “By joining Synaxon office products dealers have access to a really tremendous range of products at very favourable terms and, by making use of EGIS, they will be able to check pricing and availability and place orders across any of our 25 IT channel distributors at any time. We think that’s a proposition that most office products dealers will find impossible to ignore.” Jones says that all dealers are welcome to join the group and says that those looking to get better pricing and availability on EOS products and from the main IT and AV sectors are likely to feel the biggest benefit. “It is very competitive out there – everyone wants a piece of the EOS market and having suppliers who really know what they are talking about, as well as offering you great value, really helps. Our suppliers can provide that expertise.” Commenting on their agreement with Synaxon, Jon Duckham, Sales Director at Beta Distribution says: “With EGIS and all the additional benefits it offers, Synaxon has the potential to make a real difference to dealers.
17.12.09 - Supplier Recruitment Drive Stepped Up With Appointment Of Rupesh Vara As Channel Manager

Synaxon, the leading IT channel dealer group, has made a significant investment in driving additional value for its vendor partners with the appointment of Rupesh Vara to the newly-created role of Channel Manager UK. A well-known and experienced figure in IT channels, Vara will be primarily responsible for ensuring that vendors receive outstanding value and tangible return on investment from their partnership with Synaxon UK. He will be working with suppliers to ensure that they can take full advantage of the group’s pro-active marketing campaigns to engage with the Synaxon reseller community, drive higher levels of product and brand awareness and generate new business leads. One of his main roles will be to ensure the continued success of iTrends, the mass-market end-user mailer which Synaxon distributes through almost 200 of its reseller members, six times a year. With iTrends, Synaxon offers vendors the opportunity to promote specific products to SME businesses through the Synaxon membership and thus achieve significant and measurable ROI on their channel marketing spend. Welcoming Vara to the Synaxon team, Derek Jones, Managing Director of Synaxon UK, states: “By bringing someone with the experience and credentials that Rupesh has into the Synaxon UK team, we are demonstrating our absolute determination to deliver excellent value and ROI to all our vendor partners. He will I am sure, waste no time in ensuring that our growing base of suppliers can take full advantage of being a part of the most progressive dealer group now serving the IT trade community in the UK. “ Formerly Senior Sales Manager at IT Dealer, where he spent more than three years and helped the organisation develop its unique business model, Vara is a well-known figure in the UK channel and is looking forward to helping Synaxon deepen and develop its vendor partnerships. He says: “The Synaxon proposition is innovative, unique and compelling and I am relishing the prospect of working with existing and new vendor partners to ensure that they can become fully involved with our pro-active marketing campaigns and receive maximum return on their continued investment in our partnership. The iTrends mailer in particular, presents a fabulous opportunity for vendors to increase brand awareness and drive user interest in specific technology products. Synaxon can effectively target hundreds of thousands of customers in this way and that represents tremendous value and outstanding ROI for channel vendors.” By using the iTrends mailer to promote specific products and offers, vendors can quickly and effectively reach a massive audience of end users and generate new business opportunities for their resellers. Both printed and electronic versions of iTrends are produced and made available to Synaxon’s members, ensuring the widest possible distribution of vendor marketing messages. Resellers are able to personalise the mailer to ensure that they receive any new business leads generated directly. As well as iTrends, vendor partners benefit from having full access to Synaxon’s profiled reseller membership database, which now contains more than 565 resellers, and are included in regular email communications to members. Synaxon also provides vendors with active account management and support and regular reports and information on engagement with reseller partners. It also provides a URL link from its webpage for all vendor partners and pop-up advertising options on its EGIS product availability and Top Offers ordering pages.
21.12.09 - Opportunity For Synaxon Members To Attend CRN Reseller Business Academy At ...

Synaxon, the leading IT channel dealer group, has announced an alliance with publisher Incisive Media that enables Synaxon members to attend CRN Reseller Business Academy sessions at a discounted rate. The agreement enables Synaxon partners to get almost a third off the price of the training courses and workshops, which normally cost £349 per person. The CRN Reseller Business Academy offers courses specific to the needs of resellers whilst also providing the opportunity for them to share experiences and learn through interaction with their peer group. Courses being run in the near future include one-day workshops on Sales Management, Marketing Fundamentals, and Negotiating Skills, and a new course on Sales Presentation that aims to help resellers develop more effective sales techniques. For details of up-coming courses go to www.resellerbusinessacademy.co.uk/ Derek Jones, Managing Director of Synaxon UK, says: “One of Synaxon’s core aims is to help its members enhance their ability to develop and grow their business. We do that by providing them with tools and resources that help them to get the best deals and services from suppliers and to sell more. One way in which they can do the latter is to further develop their sales and marketing skills and, by providing courses that are specifically focused on the needs of reseller, the CRN Reseller Business Academy can help them to do that. By making discounted rates available to our members through this agreement with Incisive Media, we hope to encourage more of them to take enrol on the courses and thus enhance their own ability to market and sell their own businesses.” Jones believes that resellers from all areas of the IT, communications and office products sectors would benefit from attending the courses. “The art of selling is the same, whether you are selling systems and servers, photocopiers and printers, or calls and lines and we’d encourage all our members from the IT, office products and comms sectors to look at ways in which they can enhance their sales, marketing and negotiating skills.” The agreement with Incisive Media is another example, he notes, of how Synaxon is continuing to find new and innovative ways of adding value for its members. It already provides access to the full range of products from 25 leading IT and EOS distributors, all of which can be located and ordered through Electronic Global Information System (EGIS) – Synaxon’s unique web-based pricing, availability and order management tool. The regular iTrends mailer, which Synaxon issues every two months, provides members with a highly effective way to communicate all the special offers that are available exclusively from Synaxon members to their own customers. Members can also take advantage of the EGIS WebStore e-commerce and Datapack services to set-up or provide content for their own online offering, thus maximising their sales opportunities. This can be fully integrated with the dealer’s own back-office systems to provide live availability, pricing and automated ordering through the dealer’s own website. All these tools and resources enables resellers and dealers to maximise their sales opportunities, ensure the best prices and terms and conditions from suppliers, streamline their buying processes, reduce their costs and boost their profitability. To take advantage of the discounted offer, Synaxon members should contact Nadia Messina at Incisive Media on or 0207 316 9000 or email nadia.messina@incisivemedia.com.
24.08.09 - Synaxon Welcomes Apple Mac Specialists As New Members

Leading dealer group Synaxon has boosted its UK membership by recruiting 15 specialist Apple Mac dealers over the past month. Synaxon has recruited more than 40 new members since the beginning of May and the number of current reseller members UK-wide now exceeds 530. The surge in membership from the Apple Mac community follows the formation last month of the Technology Channel Association (TCA) trade body through the merger of the Mac Technology Association (MTA) with Professional Computing Association. Synaxon is one of the leading sponsors or the TCA and encourages its members to support the trade body and to adhere to its industry Code of Practice. Robert Peckham, who was formerly head of the MTA and is now Director of the TCA with special responsibility to Apple resellers, says that it is encouraging to see so many members taking advantage of the benefits that Synaxon is able to offer. “The Synaxon concept is excellent and they should be applauded and encouraged for their efforts to help resellers drive their business development. We’d advise all our Apple Mac dealer members to seriously consider becoming members.” One of the new recruits is Hi-Tech Bradford, which employs more than 10 full time staff and with close to 20 years of experience serving commercial and educational customers throughout the UK, is one of the UK’s leading Apple VARs. Paul Rhodes, Director of Hi-Tech Bradford says: “We’ve joined Synaxon because we have heard about the benefits it is delivering to other resellers and we want to be a part of that. Synaxon has an excellent base of supplier partners and with the EGIS system, the regular iTrends mailer and the exclusive promotions and other benefits it brings, deciding whether or not to become a member did not take us long.” Gary Sargent, Operations Manager for Synaxon comments: “We are delighted to be welcoming so many prominent members of the Mac reseller community to Synaxon and we hope that many more will follow. They will soon see the benefits of being an active member. The Synaxon model is designed to deliver benefits to all types of reseller, whether they are specialists or mainstream providers of IT and services to businesses or consumers, and as our membership and our supplier partner base grows, the benefits are multiplying.” Synaxon already has more than 50 supplier vendor and distributor partners and with the increased membership from the Mac community, will be looking to bring at least one Apple specialist distributor into the fold. “We are eager to extend the choice we can offer Mac resellers and include a good selection of specialist and Mac-compatible products in our iTrends bi-monthly mailer”, says Sargent. As well as having access to a wide range of products that are available to them under special terms and conditions, reseller members of Synaxon benefit from pro-active marketing support that actively drives new business opportunities. Resellers can find and more importantly, check and compare market pricing in real-time through Synaxon’s web-based interface. The EGIS Mobile module gives them anytime - anywhere access to product data and an instant Google ‘price checker’ will show them the prices at which competitors are currently offering the same products almost instantly. They also have access to marketing templates populated with C-Net data – which can also be delivered directly into the dealers’ back office system. By taking advantage of the EGIS WebStore service, member can set up a cost-effective, ‘off the shelf’, feature-rich e-commerce solution at very low cost within days. About Synaxon Synaxon is Europe’s largest grouping of independent IT resellers and system houses. It provides a range of services that enable resellers to enhance their marketing and build a strong presence in their chosen market and take full advantage of the extensive stock-holding and supply-chain capabilities of distributor and vendor partners. Synaxon partners have exclusive access to the unique EGIS (Enterprise Global Information System) on-line purchasing and information platform, through which they are able to locate, check availability and order products from Synaxon supplier partners. In addition, Synaxon provides a range of pro-active marketing services which reseller members can use to drive sales activity. Synaxon is already well-established in Germany, where it has more than 3000 partners that generate around €3 billion of gross external sales annually, representing 15 per cent of the German market. Through EGIS, these member partners have access to more than 120,000 products from over 100 distributors. Synaxon UK was established in September 2008 to recruit reseller members and supplier partners with a view to building a network of mutually-beneficial relationships that will enable resellers to drive higher levels of more profitable business and maximise the efficiency of product availability, and enable vendor and distributor partners to ensure that all Synaxon members have full access to their current stock and promotions.
